Well, there were several people of that name. This section looks at some of them, and particularly the descent of Katherine Keir from Adam Keir of Huxton (d. 1654), previously of Haddington were he and Alison Warrender were married in 1632. His children were George (father of Katherine), Alison and Adam junior who became Deacon of the Baxters' trade in Edinburgh. The Adam of 'Hugstoun' died in 1655.
